Like genuine bedroom DJ’s, Brussels duo Keep One Eye On Me dare to explore musical landscapes without worrying about what is and isn’t acceptable according to the codes of Pop / Rock: On the street recording of highly picturesque conversations, singing in English and French, or adding a jazzy musical jingle to a speech by Dead Kennedy’s leader Jello Biafra, why refrain from your wildest desires?
Guitar, drums, keyboards, bass, sax, samplers, beat box, voices… a clearly pop universe, opened to jazz without being too technical, tempted by electronica but avoiding the limitations of compulsory dance music or minimalist productions. Spawned during the pop / rock eras, these musicians derive pleasure from listening to their souls and their instincts, rather than jumping on the latest fashion wagon.
With an entirely original project, linking everyday songs with dreamlike experiments, open to a wide range of ideas and influences and sharing an eagerness to master both space and melodies, Keep One Eye On Me is the type of band that emerges when people who are passionate about music and with a vast spectrum of influences meet and convert their passions into a very original and personal sound.
The least pleasure you could give yourself is to let them open your ears… you won’t believe your own eyes.
